April Ross
April Ross is only one of the few beach volleyball athletes to win medals at least twice in an Olympics. Alix klineman, who is playing for the first time at Tokyo's Olympic Games is hoping to secure her third Olympic medal. Ross wants to achieve more than her first Olympic medal. At 39 and has a long way to go, this could be her last chance. She's certain that the top prizes are within reach. Ross was mentioned by NBC Boston as saying that if you play your highest, and even play well we will get the gold. "I'm trying to also try some luck." Ross was born in the city of Costa Mesa, California in the year 1982. Her parents and her sister resided in the area. Ross competed in many sports while attending Newport Harbor High School. In her time as a college athlete she played indoor track and volleyball. However she was clearly superior to the rest in the latter sport. In her high school volleyball career in her university profile, she played as an outside-hitter, middle blocker and setter. The results of her efforts were acknowledged when she was named 1999 Gatorade's Circle of Champions National players of the year. In 2000, she won the Orange County Athlete of the Year award in volleyball. Ross and Klineman began their relationship in 2017 but Ross was a beach scene star for years before. In actual, Ross has won several major tournaments in her career together with two other partners. One is a volleyball legend. She teamed up along with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and was also Klineman's personal trainer. Kessy was Ross's partner on the World Championships in 2009. The duo eventually captured a silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. The Misty Maytreanor legendary team along with Kerri Jennings were the winners of gold. Ross Jennings took over for May-Treanor after she announced her retirement. The pair won bronze in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics in the year 2016. In high school and the years before she hit the sand professionally, Ross was a ball to the Trojans at USC while an collegiate. The time she spent at USC was one to remember. She was an All-American as well as Pac-10 Freshman of Year in the year 2000, a young freshman. She was also an integral player in helping the Trojans reach the Final Four. Her personal tragedy was a crushing loss in her sophomore year and yet she went on to repeat her place as an All-American. In her last two seasons with the Trojans in the program they won victory by winning consecutive national championships. Her individual achievements have cemented her place as a legendary volleyball player. She was awarded the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the nation's best female collegiate player. Ross was a student at USC in International Relations. Margie Ross did not see her daughter make it to the top of the beach volleyball ladder. Ross suffered the loss of her mom to cancer of the breast in the year 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. She has kept her parents close to her heart. In addition, Margie continues to be an encouragement for her on the beach as well as in everyday her daily life.
